Steve
Halverson – President /
Director founded HTC in 1990 as an independent trust company.
The company's focus was to provide traditional trust services to
clients in the tri-state area without interference from a
"corporate" parent company. Steve holds a BS and MS
degree in Economics. He worked for Norwest Trust in Minneapolis
and Fargo for 18 years in a variety of positions including
investments, administration of business retirement plans,
personal trust administration and trust division manager for a
region that included Eastern ND and Western MN. Steve is well
known in the community and has played an active role in service
groups and boards. He is a former member of the ND Banking
Commission and was the national president of the Association of
Independent Trust Companies. |

Gary
W. Hanson - Senior
Vice President / Director is a Crookston, MN native. He
graduated from Moorhead State University in 1972 with a major in
accounting. From 1972 through 1988 he worked at Norwest - Fargo
where he had responsibilities in trust administration,
operations, tax, and employee benefits. In 1988 he was appointed
President of First American Trust Company of Minnesota, a Bremer
Financial Corporation subsidiary located in Marshall Minnesota,
with administrative responsibility for all five First American
Trust Company locations in Minnesota. In December 1990 he
returned to Fargo and joined Heartland Trust Company as a Vice
President. Gary has extensive experience working with corporate
retirement plans, and has attended numerous conferences,
seminars, and training sessions pertinent to the retirement plan
area. He has twice been a presenter at the Association of
Independent Trust Companies national conventions. He is active
in the community having served as president of his church
congregation, chairman of his church foundation, and president
of his service club. |

Neil
Jordheim - Vice
President joined the company in 1994. He was a flight instructor
in the USAF for five years after graduating from college.
Jordheim worked for Metropolitan Federal Bank for 18 years and
has experience in administration and retail bank operations. He
was a Regional Sales Manager responsible for all activities of
bank offices in ND, Western MN and AZ. He has a BS in economics
from NDSU and has attended many workshops and seminars on topics
appropriate to the financial business. Neil works primarily with
personal trust administration, charitable trusts, IRA rollovers
and estate settlement. He also provides business retirement
plans and investment services for charitable foundations. |

Sheryl
Bernier - Compliance
Manager, was born in Denver, but grew up on a
farm outside of Barnesville, MN. Sheryl worked for American Bank
and Trust in the trust department operations area for eight
years before joining Steve Halverson in starting Heartland Trust
Company in 1990. Sheryl has responsibilities in operations and
internal audit. Sheryl handles the accounting and recordkeeping
activities of her husband's business and is involved in
activities at her church and the schools where her children
attend. |

Denise
Lies - Senior Pension Administrator, is a New
Rockford, ND native. She graduated from Moorhead State
University in 1992 with a BS in accounting. She joined Heartland
Trust Company in January of 1993. Denise started working in the
operations area of the company. Now her primary responsibility
is retirement plan administration support. She has attended
various seminars and training sessions on trust operations and
qualified retirement plans. |

Anja
Kalvoda –
Operations Administrator, was raised in northeastern
Minnesota
. She graduated from
Moorhead
State
University
in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in the Paralegal Program.
Anja’s work experience includes 8 years of closing mortgage
loans for Agassiz Title and 2 years of processing mortgage loans
for Wells Fargo. She joined Heartland Trust Company in June 2007
with her primary responsibilities being trust operations.
Anja and her husband, Drew, live in
Moorhead

MN
, with their five children.

Paula
Stebner - Trust
Officer, grew up in Bismarck, ND. Paula graduated from Northwest Technical College - Moorhead, MN in 1989. She is a graduate of both the School of Trust & Financial Services and Advanced Trust School. Paula worked at a local accounting firm, Haga & Pope LLP for eight years prior to joining Heartland Trust in December of 1999. She works primarily in the administration of personal trust, agency, & IRA accounts. |

Diane
Sandven - Administrative
Assistant, grew up in MN. Diane graduated from Concordia
College with a degree in Business Administration and
Organizational Communications. She has over 7 years of trust
experience with First Trust in Minneapolis. She joined Heartland
Trust in October of 2004 and works primarily in the personal
trust area and supports both Steve and Neil with their client
accounts. |

Jill
McAndrew - Secretary/receptionist - a North
Dakota native. Jill joined Heartland Trust in January of 2005.
Prior to joining Heartland Jill lived in the Twin Cities of
Minneapolis/St. Paul where she worked for Best Buy Company in
their headquarters office. Jill is very active in her church.
She has two children
that keep her very busy. |

Kim Bjoralt
- Retirement Specialist, is a Northwood, ND native. He graduated
from the University of North Dakota in 1978 with a Bachelor of
Science in Business Administration and Marketing. From
1978 through 1994 Kim worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield of North
Dakota as an Employee Benefit Specialist and as a Sales Manager.
In 1983 he was appointed Manager of the Fargo District office
and later moved on to manage their National, Labor and Special
Accounts Department. In 1998 he joined Dain Rauscher
Brokerage where his financial activities focused on IRA
rollovers, corporate retirement plans and financial planning.
In 2000 he moved to Merrill Lynch. Kim also owned and operated
Human Resources, Inc., a staffing and human resource outsourcing
firm. Kim’s community involvement includes the Chamber
of Commerce, past President of FM Athletics Youth Football, past
President of Fargo Youth Hockey and currently serves as a Board
Member on the Metro Sports Foundation. Kim resides in Fargo with
his wife Betsy and their three children. |

Kathleen Pederson
– Administrative Assistant, is a native of Sabin, MN.
She graduated with a BA double major in Psychology and Criminal
Justice from
Jamestown
College
in 1998. Her previous experience includes Customer
Service Management and Quality Assurance Management with
Rosenbluth International. She was with Wells Fargo Bank
for three years assisting bankers with general banking needs as
well as a variety of types of trusts, estates, powers of
attorney, deceased processing and guardianships. Kathleen
resides in Sabin,
Minnesota
with her husband, two German Shepherds and a few cats. |
